Highly recommend – reliable and fun for any ages
On the day of the tour, the crew and Elvis (the guide) was on time. There was also a trainee (from the local vocational school) shadowing Elvis and she was friendly and helpful. It was so great to see the kids getting experiencing on the job training. The boat crew was professional and friendly. We enjoyed the trip so much that we booked the same boat and tour gain again for a snorkeling trip two days later.
Elvis, the tour guide, is young but energetic and a great guide whom I highly recommend. He really gave us a flavour of the local warmth and hospitality and having him on the boat was a highlight. He was friendly and calm throughout the trip – even helping look after our baby. He knew that we wanted to go to Padar island to see the views but because we left too late (to accommodate the baby’s schedule), he made sure that we visited another island with a great view. The hike up was steep but he was encouraging and very helpful. He made sure that we even had great photos at the top!
While we were at Rinca island to see the Komodo dragons, he also gave commentary about the island and was always there to help us get down the hike safely (it’s an easy hike but a bit of a challenge when hiking with a baby or a senior). When we were snorkeling, he knew the exact spots that had great coral reefs that would have lots of fish.
Although he is young, Elvis is experienced and is the type of guide you would enjoy having on any trip (he felt like family and we were sad to say goodbye!). With more experience, I have no doubt that he will be one of the best tour guides in the island because of his friendly and easy going demeanor.
The boat crew of Lifia is also highly recommended!
